Production Log 09-10-08

I chose to do the print preliminary task. The brief was to create a magazine front cover and contents page, the front must have a student on it and it must be a magazine for college students. the image on the front cover must be a medium close-up. i chose this task mainly because i like to work with photo shop and like the idea of doing a magazine cover and contents page. My initial response to the task was that it did seem like a challenging task, but it seems like something i would enjoy doing.

Initial ideas:

I have 3 main ideas

1. My first idea is a photography magazine showing students pictures, students at a particular college or all the colleges in a certain area. the magazine would contain, articles on students, tips on photo shop. also mentioning future careers using these skills. the main image will be of a student taking a picture, in medium close-up

2. My second idea was a magazine called student, which will be a guide to student life, a guide to college and things going on in and around college.

3. My third idea was a magazine for all creative course in college, much like the first one but not just for photography. It will be aimed at all creative courses.

Presentation:

The idea i presented was the photography magazine. The idea is still the same, the chosen name was giving to by the questions and the feed back after the presentation. ‘Aperture’ is the we we’ll be going with. I am working with some one in the class. we’re are doing the same name but different issues of the magazine.

Media Preliminary Task

My 3 main ideas are all done and ready to go. I’m going to be going with Print, i feel slightly more confident it this area, my presentation is still in the planning stage but is all there. Just needs organising and practicing.
