Mock up Front cover

 

 

This is the final mock up front cover. i spent a fair amount of time in this mock up and thoroughly enjoyed getting the experience on photoshop.

This was the main image i started with, its a picture taken by my of a close friend. I made a mistake when inserting the photograph, i didn’t contain it in an A4 size, so the final product came out in the wrong shape.

 

After A few experiments with fonts and gradients i created the title seen in the screen grab. Me and james decided that this font would look best. We’re working together but we are both producing different front covers and contents pages, we are both just keeping the title and layouts similar.

After adding the title, i then added the price and a small synapses bellow it. The one thing i would change is the size of the price. I also need to add a date.

After, i then added a line across bellow the title, a picture of a camera and also the barcode. 

 

I feel this is a very good attempt at my magazine cover. and look forward to making the final piece.

Batman Begins.

Batman begins, directed by Christopher Nolan is a film about the the story behind how Bruce Wayne becomes batman.  The story starts with a flash back of Bruce Wayne as a child, where he is attacked by bats when he falls down a well. The story then extends into the story showing him an a Chinese prison. The film progresses to him learning the way of the ‘The league of shadows’. The storyline is basically  the people that train him are the ones trying to destroy Gotham and Batman Stops them.

Some of the reasons i like film are mainly because I love the fact that in this film, everything that Batman has, all his equipment is based on mostly real technology. The film is a fictional film, but the directors have tried really hard to make it seem real. they have tried to make the Batman character seem realistic so that people start to slightly believe the idea of a Character like Batman actaully excisting. They give him equipment that, can and may have actually been made. The story is very detailed and very different to many other different super hero movies. The character of Bruce Wayne is shown as very Mysterious and dark. Although we know he is doing good, the character can be shown as very dark. This film is one of my favoritefilms because i have always been a fan of the Batman films and this one is very different to the others. It has a very strong element of a thriller film in it.

Practice at a magazine article

Production Log 09-10-08

I chose to do the print preliminary task. The brief was to create a magazine front cover and contents page, the front must have a student on it and it must be a magazine for college students. the image on the front cover must be a medium close-up. i chose this task mainly because i like to work with photo shop and like the idea of doing a magazine cover and contents page. My initial response to the task was that it did seem like a challenging task, but it seems like something i would enjoy doing.

Initial ideas:

I have 3 main ideas

1. My first idea is a photography magazine showing students pictures, students at a particular college or all the colleges in a certain area. the magazine would contain, articles on students, tips on photo shop. also mentioning future careers using these skills. the main image will be of a student taking a picture, in medium close-up

2. My second idea was a magazine called student, which will be a guide to student life, a guide to college and things going on in and around college.

3. My third idea was a magazine for all creative course in college, much like the first one but not just for photography. It will be aimed at all creative courses.

Presentation:

The idea i presented was the photography magazine. The idea is still the same, the chosen name was giving to by the questions and the feed back after the presentation. ‘Aperture’ is the we we’ll be going with. I am working with some one in the class. we’re are doing the same name but different issues of the magazine.
