Research
A short film in its entirety, lasting approximately five minutes, which may be live action or animated or a combination of both, together with two of the following three options:
•
a poster for the film;
•
a radio trailer for the film;
•
a film magazine review page featuring the film.
S: Our Target is to complete a stop-motion animation including a film poster and a film magazine review page. We will research into this medium and look into audiences and institutions as well as how to create, edit and sell these particular stop motions. The animation must be 3-5 minutes long and consist of a clear narrative. Other aspects of production include planning and preparation, set design (mise-en-scene), shot composition, the animation itself and editing.

M: The target is measurable as it has a physical measuring ability and we can see through hard evidence if we are progressing or not. By keeping a log we will be able to note and record the progression of the target and how far we have until the target has been reached.
A: We have agreed that this target is achievable and can be measured realistically.
R: Our target is very realistic as it is necessary for me to complete. If this target wasn’t realistic my coursework will not be able to be completed and will not have a good understanding of what to do. Due to the amount of time we have we believe that the target is realistic.
T: We have from September until March to complete this target although theoretically this target needs to be completely early on. The time boundaries are very wide therefore we have plenty of time to complete the target. we will be able to track my time management by progress logs etc.
Print Research.
S: Our target when researching into the print side of our course work is to gain and develop a good understanding of film magazines and how the review a film, layout the page and portray the film. We will also look at how film posters are created and what techniques they use to represent the film.
M: Our target will be measured by our extensive research and evidence on our blogs. When we can safely say we understand the conventions of a film magazine and poster and have the confidence to defy these conventions, this is when we measure our target.
A: We personally think that this target is achievable, as it is within reason and we already have a basic knowledge of magazine design and conventions.
R: This target is realistic as we have all the equipment and resources to gather the information we need to improve our knowledge.
T: We are going to allow our selves 3 weeks to complete our research, this seems like a fair amount of time to gain a good understanding of our needed area or interest.
